Sarah & Matt’s wedding was a celebration that refused to play small. Set in December and inspired by a red disco Christmas, their day was bold, joyful, and unapologetically fun - an immersive cocktail-style party designed entirely around movement, color, and connection.

They began the day getting ready together in a Center City Philadelphia hotel suite overlooking Old City and the Delaware River. It felt relaxed and intimate, setting the tone for a day that prioritized togetherness over tradition. Sarah wore an Anthropologie gown as her main dress, paired with a vintage bag she discovered during her bachelorette trip to Colorado. She completed the look with a vintage fur coat, adding a fashion-forward bridal twist that felt both personal and deeply connected to her professional world.

As a Sustainability & Social Impact Manager at Anthropologie, thoughtful design and conscious choices are second nature to Sarah, and it showed in every detail. Their venue, Globe Dye Works, was once a prolific yarn and thread dyeing factory until 2005. The celebration took place in the old boiler room, a raw, industrial space transformed entirely through intentional event design.

Florals were bursting from every corner - lush, red, and overflowing - softening the structure of the space and creating warmth in contrast to the industrial setting. Flower bars and bold arrangements filled the room, making the venue feel alive. And then there was the dance floor: dozens of disco balls hung overhead, reflecting light in every direction, sending a clear message - this was a space to let go, show off, and dance without restraint.

Rather than a traditional seated dinner, Sarah & Matt chose a cocktail-style reception, encouraging guests to mingle, move, and experience the night freely. One of the most memorable features of the evening was a dedicated tarot reading room, where a close friend of the couple invited guests into a more intimate, magical experience - another layer of personality woven seamlessly into the celebration.

As the night unfolded, Sarah changed outfits twice, each look marking a new chapter of the evening. First, a Helsi Leslie sequin mesh midi dress, and later, a bright red sequin dress that perfectly matched the event’s color palette, both from the Anthropologie Weddings collection. Each change felt intentional, playful, and entirely her.

Guests were also treated to custom temporary heart tattoos featuring Sarah & Matt’s initials, a small but thoughtful detail that added to the sense of fun and collectiveness throughout the night.

This wedding was one of the most thoughtfully designed yet effortlessly fun celebrations I’ve ever witnessed. Every choice reflected Sarah & Matt’s energy, passions, and values. It was a powerful reminder that you don’t owe your wedding day to anyone else. When you stay true to your vision, the result isn’t just beautiful - it’s unforgettable. And this was, without a doubt, a celebration of the year.
